India is not an acronym. So, it has no full form. India is also known as Bharat and Hindustan. The name India is derived from the word Indus, which itself is derived from the Sanskrit word Sindhu. Indus is also the name of a river. The Greeks referred to the country as Indoi to refer the other side of the Indus River. It was later changed to India.
